ORIS, which manages both the not-for-profit ORIS Forums and ORIS Media, publishers of Loss Prevention Magazine Europe, Wicklander-Zulawski Europe, and the Loss Prevention Foundation qualifications in the UK, received the coveted Vendor of the Year award for the third time at the 2023 Fraud Awards.
ORIS has been connecting LP and risk professionals operating in both the physical and online retail space for the best part of two decades.
The judges recognized that ORIS’s small team punches well above its weight in terms of not only proactively looking for ways of delivering value to its customers and the industry as a whole, but also the way it conducts its business, with honesty and integrity at the forefront of everything it does.
ORIS began its Retail Loss Prevention Forums in 2006 but has grown because of its ability to bring people together in pursuit of reducing losses—whether it be through the sharing of best practices and intelligence or the education and continuous professional development of LP practitioners.
Speaking after the ceremony, ORIS Managing Director Louise Kadege said, “To win this award once was a real honor, to secure it twice was out-of-this world, but to get the hat-trick is a real vote of confidence in the work that we do at ORIS. Since we last won the award, the world of retail risk has morphed into new areas of concern, from COVID-19 to climate change and the cost-of-living crisis, not to mention the growth in prolific and persistent shop theft which is often accompanied by increased levels of violence and aggression.

Over the last 17 years it has also expanded into other areas under the ORIS Media brand, including Loss Prevention Magazine Europe, Wicklander-Zulawski, the non-confrontational interview technique, and the Loss Prevention Foundation qualifications. All of this development has made a great impact in the UK and into Europe as part of ORIS’ strategy to progress the professionalization of the loss prevention and risk community. We are so grateful to all our customers and partners that have been a part of this journey.”
