David Shugan, CFI, is the senior director of loss prevention for Carter’s based in Atlanta. Prior to taking over the leadership role at Carter’s, he was manager of investigations at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Before that, he held LP management positions with Pacific Sunwear and Chernin’s Shoes. Shugan was honored in the Top 20 Under 40 list in 2009 by Security Director News. He is on the National Retail Federation (NRF) LP Advisory Council and is a frequent speaker at the NRF annual conference.
