Woman Charged with Robbery after Shoving, Choking AP Member

An Alabama woman remained jailed Tuesday charged with robbery after a Target employee was pushed, shoved and choked. Elaine Bailey, 53, allegedly went to Target in Eastchase shortly before noon August 9 and attempted to take assorted clothing, according to court records.

A loss prevention officer working for Target confronted Bailey before she could leave the store, according to Bailey’s charging documents. The employee told Bailey she needed to come with her to the loss prevention office “because she stole property that belonged to the business.”

As the employee was trying to reclaim the stolen property, Bailey allegedly began to get physical with her, according to records. “The defendant put her arm around the victim’s neck and pulled on her Target security jacket to prevent her from getting the property,” according to… Montgomery Advertiser
