US Marshals Identify Man Who Struck Police Officer with Stolen Car at Mall

An Ohio man who allegedly struck a police officer with a stolen car at the Beachwood Place Mall Thursday afternoon has been identified by law enforcement officers.

Just after 2:30 p.m., an officer attempted to detain Jaquan Jones, 19, who was suspected of shoplifting from the mall, when he fled on foot, police said. Jones eluded officers and was able to exit the mall. After briefly attempting to hide in nearby bushes, Jones continued fleeing on foot and entered a 2014 gray Nissan sedan, according to police.
