Two Retailers Sue eBay Sellers for Counterfeit Goods

eBay storefronts are selling counterfeit apparel using North Face, Vans, Kipling, and Jansport’s trademarks, according to an October 28 complaint filed in the Southern District of Florida.

The alleged counterfeiters are selling low-quality knockoffs with the plaintiffs’ trademarks to make their storefronts “appear more relevant and attractive” to consumers, the complaint says. The storefronts are allegedly “contributing to the creation and maintenance of an illegal marketplace operating in parallel to the legitimate marketplace for Plaintiffs’ genuine goods.”
