The Rise of ORC

Wall Street Journal article published on Sept 1 reported that “… organized retail theft accounts for around $45 billion in annual losses for retailers these days, up from $30 billion a decade ago. According to Ben Duggan, CVS Health Corp’s top ORC investigator, reported thefts have ballooned 30% since the pandemic began. Home Depot says the company has doubled the size of its investigative units over the past four years. Target Corp., Ulta Beauty Inc., and TJX have also bulked up their resources.”

The LPRC and its community of retailers is uniquely positioned to do something about this major and growing problem. Using the LPRC frameworks provides a guide for enabling collaborative and collective action by the entire community.
