El Paso Mall Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Injured
One person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting Wednesday evening at a mall in El Paso, Texas, sending patrons running or sheltering in a community scarred three years ago by a shooting massacre in a nearby store. Two males were taken into custody.

Legislation on Retail Theft Introduced in Alabama
A new piece of legislation will be introduced to Alabama lawmakers in March to crack down on retail theft. Retail theft has apparently gone up in the state because there is no law that punishes people for stealing under $1,500 in merchandise.

Buffalo Grocery Store Shooter Sentenced to Life in Prison
The 19-year-old gunman who killed 10 black people at a grocery store in Buffalo, New York last year was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole at an emotional hearing that was briefly interrupted when a man charged toward him.

Shoplifter Tries to Run Over AutoZone Employee
A man is behind bars after police said he tried to run an AutoZone employee over after allegedly stealing items from the Nashville store. The employee had followed him outside to capture his vehicle information.

Eric Adams Says Shoplifting Is Costing NYC Jobs
New York City’s shoplifting epidemic is costing retail workers their jobs, Mayor Eric Adams said Wednesday as he endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul’s push to give judges more discretion in setting bail for criminal defendants.

Retail Theft Ring Smashed
More than $950 in Apple merchandise was stolen last summer from a downtown Palo Alto Apple store as a part of a series of brazen thefts at Apple stores that resulted in a loss of about $1 million in merchandise. Eight suspects have been arrested for the crime spree.
