Oregon Laws Targeting Retail Theft Go into Effect in January
Starting January 1, changes are coming to some of the most urgent needs of Oregon residents, targeting the state’s drug crisis, retail theft, and child tax credits. Senate Bill 340 will impose harsher penalties for those convicted of retail theft.

21-Year-Old Dies after Shooting at Tulsa Mall
21-year-old Kierstan “KJ” Love died late Tuesday evening after a targeted shooting at the Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa. The shooter and victim had an argument that turned violent just outside the mall’s north doors. The shooter then fled through the parking lot and is still at large.

2 Men Arrested in Target Gift Card Ring
Officers were alerted by Target’s Asset Protection on Dec. 20 that two men were altering gift cards in their store and had done the same thing earlier in the day at another Target. Officers saw the two men stocking the shelves with gift cards and detained them.

Sacramento Police Hold Retail Crime Blitz Operation at Mall
The Sacramento Police Department recently conducted a one-day blitz operation at the Arden Fair Mall to combat retail theft during the holidays. The department recovered $2,400 in stolen merchandise, made three felony arrests, and administered over 10 charges relating to theft during the operation.
