Suspect Stole Beer; Bongs Before Firing Shot at C-Store Employee

Police are searching for a man who allegedly fired at a baseball bat wielding convenience store clerk after he was seen taking beer and bongs.

According to CrimeStoppers, police responded to a convenience store in the first block of West Fairview Avenue Nov. 13 about 7:10 p.m. in reference to a shooting.

An employee told police a man wearing all black and a partial mask came into the store before the shooting.

The man was recorded on video putting bottles of beer in his waistband then approaching the front counter. Instead of paying, the man then snatched three glass bongs, each priced at $189, and ran out of the store.

The employee then grabbed a wooden bat and pursued the man, according to CrimeStoppers. The suspect then fired one round in the direction of the employee before fleeing the scene in a black vehicle. He was not injured.

Officers were able to find one 9mm shell casing at the scene and broken glass suspected to be from one of the three bongs the man fled with.
