Shoplifter Swipes $10K Worth of Jeans from Multiple Retailers

A denim bandit managed to steal massive bundles of blue jeans — nearly $10,000 worth — from various Banana Republic and Gap stores in Manhattan, according to police.

The thief hit at least eight stores throughout Midtown in January — managing to snag armfuls of jeans, with the exception of one time when he stole purses from a luxury Italian store — from the popular clothing stores, according to police.

The shoplifting spree began on Jan. 10 around 5:50 PM inside The Gap at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue when he grabbed nearly $1,600 worth of denim, police said. In each incident… New York Post
