Shoplifter Flees, Runs into Glass Door, is Arrested

The Columbus Police Department (CPD) apprehended a shoplifting suspect on Sunday after he attempted to flee from officers and ran into a glass door. At around 4:30 PM, CPD was dispatched to the new Big Lots, in the old Marsh building, on 25th Street.

While officers were inside the store speaking to the alleged shoplifter, Michael A. Scott, 31, of Columbus, they say he suddenly attempted to flee out of the store and ran into a glass door causing it to shatter. He was handcuffed by officers a short time later.

CPD requested that paramedics respond to treat the injured man who sustained a number of cuts from the broken glass. He was later transported to Columbus Regional Health. Scott was arrested and charged with theft, criminal mischief, and resisting law enforcement…  Local News Digital
