Shoplifter Attempts to Evade Arrest, Lengthy Struggle Ensues

One woman was taken into custody after attempting to steal $85 worth of items from Walmart.

Sunday night, around 9:30 PM, Lincoln Police responded to Walmart, 4700 N 27th St., for a shoplifting report.

One officer approached the 43-year-old suspect, later identified as Brandy Wolford, who allegedly swiped several items.

Wolford tried to run away which led to a lengthy struggle between her and the officers. She was eventually arrested after more officers arrived.

The officer engaged in the struggle suffered multiple scrapes and abrasions, plus a cut to the hand. He did not require medical attention.

The paid merchandise (nail polish, eye shadow, shampoo, etc) was found stuffed in her pockets and purse. Later at the jail, staff also uncovered a bag with 0.7 grams of meth on her person.

Wolford was arrested for felony 3rd Subsequent Theft by Shoplifting, felony Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Controlled Substance…   ABC8 News
