Shannon Hunter is now vice president of merchandising operations and sustainability at Office Depot. Hunter was formerly the vice president of loss prevention operations and sustainability for the retailer.
Hunter began his tenure with Office Depot/OfficeMax as a district loss prevention manager with OfficeMax in 1998 and quickly worked his way up the ladder to territory loss prevention manager, manager of corporate loss prevention, and director of corporate loss prevention operations. Following the merger with Office Depot in 2014 he became director of LP operations and international, director of supply chain, corporate, and international loss prevention, and senior director of loss prevention and safety before being promoted to vice president of loss prevention operations and sustainability. He has also held positions with Service Merchandise, Montgomery Ward, Sears, and Venture Stores over the course of his 26 years in loss prevention.

Hunter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in management from Truman State University. He has been an active member of the Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC) where he has served on the board of advisors and as the vice chair of the operations committee. Hunter is also a recipient of LP Magazine’s Magpie Award for Excellence in Leadership.
