Robber Threatened To Stab LP In Botched Chainsaw Theft

A Stratford, Connecticut, man accused of threatening to stab a security officer while trying to steal two chainsaws was recently arrested, according to police. The shoplifting incident occurred in December 2018 at the Stratford Home Depot. Leroy McDaniel was arrested June 12 on a warrant for charges related to the attempted theft, Captain Frank Eannotti stated in an email.

McDaniel, 61, of West Haven, is accused of threatening to stab store security and stealing two chainsaws valued at about $2,000, according to Eannotti, who added the chainsaws were recovered when McDaniel fled the store at 350 Barnum Ave. Cutoff.
