Retail Theft Getaway Driver Misses Officer; Strikes Mall Security Guard

A Madison mall worker was struck by a vehicle during a theft Friday night, according to police. Madison (Wisconsin) police said two people were arrested after an incident at East Towne Mall shortly before 9 PM. According to the report, a Madison officer and a private security guard had chased a well-known retail theft suspect out of Dick’s Sporting Goods after the woman ran out with a set of stolen golf clubs.

She threw them in the backseat of the getaway car and jumped in the passenger seat, police said. The driver accelerated in the direction of the officer and the security guard. The officer quickly stepped aside, yelling for the security guard to watch out… Channel 3000
