Police Seek Suspect Who Ran from $50K Jewelry Store Heist

A $50,00 jewelry theft occurred Monday morning at a store on Grand Avenue in Gurnee, (Illinois), according to police.  In a statement released Monday afternoon, the Gurnee police officials said that just before 11 AM Monday, officers responded to a report of a retail theft on the 6500 block of Grand.

A man entered the store and requested to see jewelry from the display. During a consultation with the sales associate, the suspect took the merchandise and ran from the store, according to the release.

The suspect made no threats to sales associates and there were no indications a weapon was involved, police said. The estimated value of the merchandise, which was not specifically described, is $50,000, according to the release.
