An off-duty police officer stopped a potential theft at Stop & Shop on Monday, October 14.
The officer was at the Quaker Meetinghouse Road location at 3:37 PM and reportedly saw a woman put several items in her purse before attempting to leave without paying. The officer called the police station to advise them of the situation.
