Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the National Retail Federation (NRF) has decided to cancel NRF PROTECT 2020 scheduled to be held in Pittsburgh this June and is considering online educational events in the September timeframe according to their announcement today.
Following is their announcement to conference sponsors and solutions providers.
“Because we are committed to finding new ways to provide value for you during this challenging time, NRF will provide free digital content for retail loss prevention and cyber risk professionals, available in September 2020.
“All attendee registration fees paid to NRF will be refunded. Please allow up to 6 weeks for us to process these.
“Exhibitors and sponsors will be contacted over the next three weeks to discuss how they wish to handle monies already paid to NRF. There will be a variety of options, including transferring money to other NRF events (NRF PROTECT 2021 or NRF 2021: Retail’s Big Show based on availability), sponsoring online content being created or receiving a refund.
“We know you rely on the NRF PROTECT event to grow your businesses. We will be in touch with information on securing your booth for NRF PROTECT 2021 as we look toward brighter times.
“As tough as times are, we are so proud to represent an industry on the frontlines of helping communities. For more information about NRF’s activities, please visit our Coronavirus Resource Center for Retailers.
“We’d like to thank you for your support of NRF PROTECT. We’ll be in touch soon with more details on new opportunities.”
