New York man arrested for stealing chain saws at a home improvement store and threatening employee with hatchet

An Ithaca, New York man has been arrested after Ithaca Police say he stole several items, including chainsaws, from a local Lowe’s.   He also threatened an employee with a hatchet. Zachery Burlingame, 31, was arrested for robbery and menacing — he also had a bench warrant on previous theft charges.

Police found him in an area known as “The Jungle” by locals. He was in a tent with $1,300 worth of stolen property.  He was arraigned and jailed on a $21,000 bond.  He’s scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 17.
