Many Happy Returns for Holiday Shoppers

Target is unveiling some extra return options for customers who didn’t buy or receive the perfect holiday gift.

Customers can return most new, unopened items within 90 days. Products bought at a Target store can be returned at any Target store. Items bought online, including via omnichannel drive-up or order pickup services, can be returned at any Target store, or dropped off at a UPS or FedEx return access point with a free printable return label. Gift recipients can return items to any Target store using a gift receipt or packing slip.

Target is also extending its electronics and entertainment return window this holiday season. Customers who bought electronics or entertainment items (excluding Apple products) between October 1 and December 25 have until January 24 to make a return. Shoppers who bought Apple products (excluding mobile phones) between October 1 and December 25 have until Jan. 9 to make a return.

During the busiest shopping times, in addition to the usual guest services counter, stores will also accept returns at designated checklanes. In processing returns, Target said it follows all CDC and state-specific guidelines, including thoroughly cleaning hard-surface items (such as board games) and holding soft items (such as apparel) for 24 hours in a back room before returning to shelves.

If a returned item can’t be resold, Target will either donate, salvage, recycle, or properly dispose of it if it’s broken or damaged. The retailer will never re-sell anything that is temperature-controlled and has left the store (like milk)…   Chain Store Age
