LP Associate Stabbed by Shoplifter

LP associate stabbed by shoplifter

San Antonio, Texas, Police are reporting that a Walmart loss prevention associate was stabbed and seriously injured after making a shoplifting stop. Details are still sketchy, but police do say that the LP associate followed a homeless person out of the store, and when he approached the suspect, he was stabbed.

An unnamed, off-duty, Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy is being credited with saving the associate’s life by his quick response. San Antonio Police Sergeant James Lint said that the Deputy was in the right place at the right time. “With him being here (at the Walmart) he was able to get a tourniquet on him,” Lint said. “That’s probably what saved his life.” The unidentified associate was transported by Emergency Medical Services to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was taken into surgery.
