The Loss Prevention Magazine (LPM) and the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF)’s Town Hall Meeting kicked off with a bang yesterday, May 18th.
The Town Hall setting provides an opportunity for loss prevention/asset protection leaders, solution providers, and thought leaders to come together to discuss topics leading conversations across the industry, review the latest trends and tendencies, and share thoughts on solutions and best practices on how to approach these issues. By coming together with different perspectives and common objectives, these meetings provide opportunity for fresh ideas and focused efforts regarding some of the biggest challenges facing the industry today. Partnership and collaboration have always been a strength of loss prevention leadership and this week’s event continues that important narrative.
Loss prevention executives trickled into the Charlotte Sheraton Hotel throughout the day, and at 6 p.m., the Town Hall festivities officially began with a cocktail hour, which gave attendees the opportunity to network and re-connect.
At 7 p.m., Town Hall attendees were invited to a dinner at the Sheraton, where LPF President Terry Sullivan gave opening remarks and announced this month’s Magpie Award winners: Kevin O’Brien, vice president of business development at the Integritus Group, and Karen Edwards, interim associate dean at the University of South Carolina.
After dinner, attendees were able to continue to connect and network.
The Town Hall officially starts this morning, with a schedule of topics to discuss. Check back next week for more coverage on our site!
