Five Taken to Jail Following Standoff after Shoplifting

Five people were taken to the Benton County Jail in Washington state after a lengthy standoff in Kennewick Monday afternoon. Kennewick police say around 1:30pm on Monday, officers were dispatched to a theft that had just occurred from the Walmart on the 2700 block of S. Quillan St. Loss prevention officers provided a description of the theft suspect and a license plate of the vehicle that he fled in. Another officer responded to the residence of where the vehicle was registered in the 2100 block of W 19th Ave and observed the vehicle pull in to the location.

That’s when police say two males exited and ran into the residence. One of the males, identified as Shane Gillespie (32), was recognized by officers. The home was surrounded and officers attempted to call out Gillespie out of the residence. After a period of time, Gillespie exited and was arrested. Through the course of the investigation, the second male was identified as Jedidiah Guilliam (27), who had a warrant for his arrest… KEPR CBS19 News
