Salina Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva said this morning that management at Casey’s, 725 West Schilling Road, contacted police on Dec. 31 to report that an employee was believed to have been stealing money from the register.

The Salina Police Department launched an investigation that included obtaining access to the store’s accounting records and surveillance video, he said. It was determined, based on video evidence, that during the period between 5 AM on November 23 and 6 PM on December 30 an employee took a total of $1,650 from the register, Villanueva said.
