Couple Arrested for Leading Police on Chase in Stolen Vehicle after Shoplifting

Tulsa, Oklahoma, police arrested two people Sunday night after they shoplifted from a store then led police on a chase. Officers attempted to stop the Toyota Camry for running a red light just before 9 p.m. near Pine and North Yale.

The driver, Brittany Gant, crashed the vehicle into a curb. She initially hid behind a house, but eventually surrendered after realizing she was being tracked by a TPD helicopter. There were two passengers in the vehicle – Cornelius Carter and his son. They stayed with the car and were taken into custody.

Police learned the vehicle was stolen from 15th and 129th East Avenue after the suspects burglarized another vehicle and found the keys to the Toyota. Officers searched the car and found about $250 worth of cold ribeye steaks and crab legs, which they found out were stolen from Reasor’s at 41st and Yale.
