CONTROLTEK will be attending the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s 2019 Retail Asset Protection Conference from May 5—8 in Denver, CO. The company will be showcasing the latest in EAS and RFID solutions at an interactive exhibit located at Booth 606.
Tom Meehan, CFI, chief strategy officer and chief information security officer of CONTROLTEK, will be speaking about the basics of the dark web and how to use it as a tool to conduct investigations on Tuesday, May 7 at 1:15 p.m. Meehan will be presenting at a concurrent session with Abraham Gonzalez, CFI, LPC, central asset protection manager of fraud mitigation and e-commerce investigations at Bloomingdale’s.
“Tom is an expert in all things tech and retail asset protection,” said Rod Diplock, chief executive officer of CONTROLTEK. “He has combined this expertise with his years of experience in conducting investigations to teach loss prevention professionals how to use today’s technology to fight against the classic problem of retail shrinkage.”
In addition to displays of their retail solutions in use, CONTROLTEK will offer a live demonstration of the ApparelGuard, a device used to detect magnets shoplifters bring in stores to remove EAS tags. Made by their partner, Alert Systems, this technology is nominated as a finalist for the RTech Asset Protection Innovation Awards. The finalist showcase will take place on Monday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m., allowing conference attendees to vote for the Retailers’ Choice Award, and the winners selected by the judges will be announced on Tuesday, May 7 at 3 p.m.
“Our strong partnership with Alert Systems is one of the reasons we are able to offer our customers a wide variety of retail asset protection solutions,” said Steve Sell, vice president of global sales and marketing at CONTROLTEK. “Whether you are looking to protect your fitting rooms or deter theft entirely, the ApparelGuard is just one of many solutions we offer.”
