Police in Tennessee say 23 year old Cassandra Carter stole $14,243 from the Walmart on Raleigh Lagrange Road in Northeast Memphis. She’s accused of pocketing money from the register over and over.
Police say the store’s loss prevention officer got suspicious after Carter’s register came up short in funds a number of times in recent weeks. Investigators say he then caught her on surveillance video stuffing cash from the register into her pocket or into a bag, sometimes while she pretended to throw something away. Police say Carter admitted to stealing the money and told officers she needed it to buy a car, turn her utilities on, and buy things for her children… News Channel 3
