ON-DEMAND: Advance Auto AP Team Discusses Retooling During a Pandemic

Advance Auto Parts (AAP) asset protection team selected a new exception reporting solution earlier this year. They were preparing to implement the technology when COVID-19 hit and changed the retail landscape. As an essential retailer, AAP stayed open during the crisis and worked to deploy this new solution at the same time.

Marc Patrouch is vice president of asset protection for Advance Auto Parts. His 14-year career with the company began in asset protection, and was interrupted by a four-year stint at the University of Virginia working in internal audit, risk management, and operations for the university. He returned to Advance Auto Parts as an AP analyst and rapidly progressed to vice president.

Dale Foster

Dale Foster is director of asset protection for Advance Auto Parts. He brought a wealth of retail experience to his asset protection role. In his 25 years at Advance Auto Parts, he developed a well-rounded background in merchandising, pricing, and project management. In 2019 he joined the AP team to lead process management functions.

Matt Irwin

Matt Irwin is regional asset protection manager for Advance Auto Parts, currently supporting stores in eight states: Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. He joined Advance Auto Parts in 2018 with 11 years of loss prevention experience at Blockbuster Video, Hastings Entertainment, and Dollar General. His background includes operations roles of general manager, training manager, and district manager.

Corey Adams

Corey Adams is vice president of client services for Appriss Retail. Since 2011 Adams has helped over 100 retailers around the world maximize their success with the installation, development, and usage of analytics tools and programs. He manages a team of consultants working in the US and abroad. Prior to joining Appriss Retail, he worked as a professional services consultant with Tyco International, assisting retailers as they established and developed their analytics programs.
