It’s a common misconception that submission always looks a particular way – as in a posture of defeat. However, it can present itself differently depending on the subject. Subjects may make an emotional decision to admit, or a rational decision to admit. The emotional decision is much easier to identify and involves much more exaggerated behaviors.
Submission means that there is no more resistance. So, instead of asking yourself, “Is this person in submission?” it may be better to ask, “Is this person resisting?” Both questions should likely lead you to the same result, but the second option helps us keep an open mind for identifying both paths to submission.
