Five older teenage boys were arrested early Monday morning in connection to eight smash-and-grab burglaries near Bayshore Freeway in Palo Alto (California).
At 3:39 AM, officers responded to a call from a witness who reported men banging on nearby car windows and setting off alarms near Amarillo Avenue and West Bayshore Road, which runs parallel to the freeway, according to the Palo Alto Police Department.
The responding officer saw a car traveling south on Tanland Drive, officials said, with five teenagers inside matching suspect descriptions. He stopped the vehicle and found gloves and burglary tools inside, along with various stolen items.
Officers canvassed the area and found eight cars that had been smashed and robbed, police said.
