Surveillance video from a Danvers (Massachusetts) store shows employees fighting Thursday morning to keep five shoplifting suspects from escaping with armfuls of expensive coats.
Alan Gibeley, owner of Giblees Menswear & Tuxedos on Andover Street, said this is the third time his store has been hit this year. He now plans to remove the Canada Goose coats, which retail for about $1,000, off the open floor.
Video from the store shows a group of five people grabbing more than a dozen of the pricey coats and attempting to run out of the store. A group of employees tried to block the way, physically confronting the suspects near the main entrance. One of the employees suffered several cuts on his face.
“I tell everyone, ‘Let them go, don’t get hurt.’ But my employees are so loyal to this store,” said Gibeley. “When somebody comes in, and they invade your home like they did, and charge out with merchandise, it’s only reactive to try to stop them.” Gibeley said his staff… WCVB5 News
