ThinkLP has hired Tony Sheppard as their new director, loss prevention solutions. Sheppard brings over 27 years of retail loss prevention experience, with a focus in the last 12 years on organized retail crime (ORC). His guidance and expertise in combating ORC in working in retail as well as with law enforcement will bring valuable insight as ThinkLP advances their ORC and loss prevention solutions.
“Tony joining us here at ThinkLP is a continued demonstration of our commitment to serving the global loss prevention industry with the most innovative and forward-thinking solutions,” said ThinkLP’s founder and president, Doug Treleaven.
Sheppard started his career as a store detective with Montgomery Ward and over the years moved on to various loss prevention roles at CVS Health, Ulta Beauty, Bloomingdale’s, Family Dollar, Pep Boys, and the Paradies Shops. He has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences across the country and conducts guest lectures at Texas A&M.
Sheppard is certified as an expert witness on ORC and product diversion and has testified on several state and federal cases. He has also helped draft multiple state ORC/ORT bills that have become law. He has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Houston, an associate degree in business management from Davenport University, and will complete his master’s in security management this summer. He is also a member of the NRF Legislative Committee, RILA’s Crimes Against Business Committee, and is a board member for the Coalition of Law Enforcement and Retail (CLEAR).
In comments about the move to ThinkLP, Sheppard said, “I am happy to bring my loss prevention experience to the organization and continue to work with my friends in the industry in a new and exciting role.”
Rhett Asher, ThinkLP’s vice president of strategy, is thrilled to welcome Sheppard to the team. “We are excited to have Tony on our team as we continue to bring the best loss prevention software to the industry.”
