An Oregon jury has awarded over $21 million to the family of a man who was shot and killed by a private security guard outside of a Portland Lowe’s store in 2021. This comes after the security guard was sentenced to life in prison for the death.

Man Charged After Allegedly Attacking 60-Year-Old Woman in Store Bathroom
A 26-year-old man is facing a felony kidnapping charge after assaulting a 60-year-old woman at an At Home store in Ohio last Friday. The man grabbed her by the throat, squeezing hard enough that she couldn’t breathe, and then slammed her into the wall.

Women Charged with Stealing Thousands of Dollars in Merchandise from Stores Across Chicagoland
Two women from Milwaukee are facing serious charges after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from retail stores across the Chicago area. The women were arrested in connection with a multi-county theft ring that targeted ULTA and Victoria’s Secret stores.

Target CEO Hopes the Company Will Eventually Remove Locked Cases
Target CEO Brian Cornell said he “certainly hopes” that Target will remove its locked cases one day, reiterating the company is waiting for the results of federal, state, and local government’s involvement. Instituting the right self-checkout process will also help the matter, Cornell added.
