A Tennessee man only learned he was the winner of a $1 million jackpot when detectives called to tell him his winning ticket had been stolen. A clerk at the gas station he bought it from had stolen the ticket and tried to collect the prize.

Chicago Man Sentenced to 25 Years in Prison for String of Cellphone Store Robberies
Jonathan Byars, 26, carried out six robberies and two attempted robberies in 2019 and 2020. In each incident, Byars, along with a group of men, entered the cellphone stores armed with guns and threatened and physically assaulted store employees while stealing money, phones, and other merchandise.

Bronx Businesses Are Getting Grants to Purchase More Security Tech
Fordham Road is the largest shopping district in the Bronx. Now, the Fordham Road Business Improvement District is offering ten businesses security improvement grants of up to $1,500 to help with growing retail theft in the area.

Employee Stole $1K in Goods from AutoZone
A regional loss prevention manager at an AutoZone in Florida told police he noticed suspicious activity involving an employee who had been working at the store since September 2023. The manager confronted the employee, who admitted to stealing merch by removing it from the store through the backdoor.
