A South New Jersey man has been sentenced to five years, six months for his role in a large-scale retail theft ring that spanned South Jersey, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office announced on Thursday. Yasin Knight, 43, of Salem, previously pleaded guilty to second-degree leader of an organized retail theft enterprise.
Knight served as organizer, supervisor, financier or manager of an organized retail theft enterprise that stole baby formula, diapers and laundry detergent from local grocery stores in Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties. They then resoldHe was originally charged following a six-month investigation by New Jersey State Police, the prosecutor’s office and Acme and ShopRite Loss Prevention.
