More than 1,000 asset protection executives are expected to gather in New Orleans this week for the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Retail Asset Protection Conference 2017. The event, which kicks off on Monday, April 9 and runs through Wednesday, April 12, will be held at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
Touting a theme of “Embracing Retail’s Disruption,” the event promises to bring a powerful content program and expert insights to the retail asset protection community. Topics covered by the educational program will include crimes against businesses, operational loss, workplace safety, business intelligence and analytics, and much more.
The event will offer plenty of networking events for retailers to engage in dialogue with solution providers, including a “Colleagues and Cocktails” gathering, business breaks, group luncheons, and open-forum discussions. Dedicated time blocks have also been set aside on Monday and Tuesday for exhibit hall exploration in order to maximize networking opportunities among industry peers.
2017’s conference will again feature an awards showcase as well. The (R)Tech Asset Protection: Innovation Awards will highlight the latest and greatest in the space where retail meets technology to mitigate loss. A team of AP expert judges will announce the winning technologies on Tuesday afternoon.
“The agenda for this year’s RILA conference is packed full of really interesting topics that should provide plenty of takeaways for attendees,” said Jack Trlica, managing editor of LP Magazine. “Also, as one of the judges for the second annual innovation awards, I’m looking forward to visiting the finalists to hear about their new technologies. I recommend that all the retail attendees spend some quality time in the exhibition hall to meet with the many solutions providers who make this and other industry events possible.”
