In order to understand how to make retail spaces safer, one concern of interest is understanding what should be done to prevent and mitigate acts of violence within our stores. To do this, the LPRC is presenting a three-part webinar series to break down important cases of active assailants within retail settings as part of a process to understand how we can better detect and affect these horrific acts. The webinar will be on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. ET.
In the second episode of the Active Assailant Case Breakdown series, the LPRC discusses the internal threats within your organization: situations in which the shooters are current employees. Two cases of employee-on-employee violence will be explored during this session: the Martez Abram shooting at a Walmart and the Snochia Mosely shooting at a Rite Aid distribution center. Mitigation and prevention strategies for employees turning to violence will be discussed.
