Hundreds of loss prevention executives arrived in port city of Long Beach, CA, Tuesday for the annual National Retail Federation’s PROTECT conference looking forward to renewing friendship, networking with peers, educational sessions, and a bit of fun. Tuesday was a day for getting the exhibition hall ready, registration, welcome reception, and giving back to the community.
The day started early at Trump National Golf Club Los Angeles where a hundred retailers and LP suppliers teed up the golf ball for a charity tournament sponsored by the USS Foundation. The cool ocean breeze over the undulating course was a great setting for industry peers to have some fun prior to the week’s activities. The dollars raised by the tournament fund the gift of bicycles to underprivileged children in cities across the US.
Registration was followed by a busy welcome reception on the promenade outside the Long Beach Convention Center before numerous evening events were enjoyed by attendees thanks to the generosity of solutions providers. The LP industry is fortunate to have so many vendors who support their retail partners by funding conferences and providing venues for LP executives to relax, share good food and drink, and prepare for Wednesday and Thursday’s educational sessions.
We’re back tomorrow with a recap of the opening day of NRF PROTECT version 2015.
