Wednesday was a busy day for those in attendance at the 16th annual LP Magazine meeting in Music City, USA (also known as Nashville, TN). The day started off with a bit of friendly competition at the Ted Rhodes Golf Course along the banks of the Cumberland River in north Nashville. The course is so named for the legendary golfing pioneer and Nashville native Theodore “Ted” Rhodes, who was recognized as the first African-American professional golfer in 1948.
The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) welcomed members of the Asset Protection Leaders Council for their co-located event on Wednesday afternoon prior to the commencement of planned store visits. A debrief meeting for RILA members took place at the conclusion of the day.
LP Magazine’s Vendor Advisory Board gathered in the mid-afternoon to hear their annual update from the magazine team and discuss the publication’s growth and future projects. Presenters at the meeting included Jack Trlica, managing editor; Kelsey Seidler, online managing editor; Ben Skidmore, sales manager; and Kevin McMenimen, chief operating officer. The team revealed the exciting plans and opportunities made possible by LPM’s latest publication, the all-digital, totally dynamic LPM Online.
Wednesday’s events wrapped up with a convivial reception for all attendees and their spouses. Reception guests enjoyed Southern-style food and a Nashville-inspired songwriting collaboration activity with the talented songwriter and performer Marc-Alan Barnette.
