The loss prevention industry is collectively mourning the tragic loss of Jason Swanson, who passed away in a car accident on April 16th.
“Jason was not just a colleague; he was a remarkable security expert, a mentor, a devoted husband to Katie, a loving father to Crosby and Lochlan, and a beacon of positivity in every setting he graced,” said Jordan Rivchun, who worked closely with Jason in his most recent role as business development manager at Hanwha Vision. “His impact was profound, touching the lives of so many.”
Jason’s resume was beyond impressive, including roles at MOD Pizza, Abercrombie & Fitch, and GAP, but his reach went far beyond that. As his LinkedIn bio states, he was proudest of being a “good human, dad, and mentor.” The GoFundMe page set up by Rivchun and Michael Volz in Jason’s honor reads, “Jason was so much more than a title or a tagline. He was a soul that radiated warmth. A friend who always had your back. A dad who lit up when talking about his boys. And a guy who loved music with all his heart. Jason would want all of us to celebrate his life the way he celebrated life every day!
“He was never afraid to jump on stage—not for attention, but to share his incredible talent and bring joy to everyone around him. Whether it was his voice, his guitar, or just the energy he brought to a room, Jason had a way of turning moments into memories. Music was one of his greatest gifts, and he used it to lift spirits, create connection, and make people smile. He didn’t just perform—he made people feel something real. That joy, that light, was pure Jason.”
