National Retail Systems (NRS) recently announced it has aligned with ALTO US to implement ALTO’s supply-chain risk management platform.
“A layered program is key in our risk management success within our supply chain,” said John Tabor, senior vice president for NRS. “It has become more than cargo crime prevention for us. It’s just as much about a transparent and seamless experience for our clients. Being able to go wide and not just deep within our supply-chain risk management program is why we are taking this exciting leap with ALTO.”
The supply-chain security programs in place at NRS have been recognized as among some of the most advanced in the industry by law enforcement and government agencies nationwide. Tabor added, “We are optimistic that our national footprint and focus in supply-chain security, along with ALTO’s ability to give us a real-time, big view of our supply-chain risks, will not only benefit us but the entire industry as we progress with our project and mutual contributions. This new strategic alliance will lead to a more controlled and innovative view while securing supply chains for NRS customers.”
The partnership between NRS and ALTO is a significant step as ALTO opens operations in North America after more than a decade serving retailers and shippers in Latin America and Spain with proven success. “We are privileged to have NRS as our strategic partner given their award-winning programs in the supply-chain security arena. We are also aware of NRS’s presence and command in galvanizing some of the industry transportation security programs for some of the nation’s largest retailers,” said Maurizio Scrofani, CCSP,LPC, vice president of supply-chain security and intelligence for ALTO US.
ALTO’s supply-chain risk management solution is called ALTO AssuranceSM, a modular plug-and-play system that offers asset protection and risk management professionals visibility and compliance each step of the transit of goods to their stores. Using a combination of innovative tools to ensure assets under care and custody are at the right place, right time with accuracy, its integration mechanisms allow for holistic risk assessment with route review, tracking, and a robust audit library to provide supply-chain and logistics managers all the information needed to ensure controls are in place throughout the process. This innovative approach is cloaked with a comprehensive business intelligence platform that focuses on managing a multitude of risk factors that reduces costs associated with delays, theft, and other preventable incidents—results that add to retailers’ bottom line from both expense reduction and enhanced operational efficiency.
