A Fort Myers, Florida, man will be heading to prison for 41 years after being convicted as the leader of a crew in a string of armed robberies of banks and retail stores.
Rashid Iman Turner, 32, was sentenced by United States District Judge William F. Jung to more than four decades in federal prison and ordered to pay $103,782.78 in restitution to the victims. A federal jury found Turner guilty on May 29.
Evidence presented at trial showed that Turner and co-defendant Petrie Addison robbed Family Dollar and Dollar General stores in Lehigh Acres in August and October 2017.
