eBay’s GAP Team Assists in Take-Down of Razor Theft Ring

Three Massachusetts men have been indicted on charges they sold more than $200,000 worth of stolen razor blades on eBay. US Attorney Carmen Ortiz says 51-year-old Robert Liberatore, of Wakefield; 43-year-old Mark Girardin, of Randolph; and 62-year-old Joseph Evangelista, of Lowell, were arrested Monday. They are charged with conspiracy to transport stolen property across state lines.

Prosecutors say Evangelista stole the razor blades while employed at Boston-based Gillette and gave them to Liberatore and Girardin, who sold them on eBay. Prosecutors say they sold $208,944 in blades in 2011.  It’s unclear whether the men have lawyers.
