Impact Security, the manufacturer of the patented security glazing system called DefenseLite®, has launched new tools and resources to support authorized dealers and architects across the US and Canada. These resources include a new website, complete with dealer portal and a dealer locator page, ARCAT (an online specification resource), and 4Specs (a spec resource), and a partnership with AEC Daily to launch a continuing education course entitled “Retrofit Security Glazing Solutions for Advanced Forced Entry & Ballistic Protection.” These tools are designed to bolster the specification rate of DefenseLite solutions, emboldening architects, facility managers, and other decision-makers to research and specify which products will best complement their needs across multiple industries.
“We have recently seen firsthand how vital it is to ensure our retailers, government buildings, and other at-risk businesses have the utmost protection,” said Jeff Franson, managing director of Impact Security. “These resources and tools will help further demonstrate why DefenseLite offers the premier solution for enhanced security and make it easier for key individuals to research and specify the exact products they need.”
DefenseLite is a patented security glazing system manufactured by Impact Security. This retrofit security shield is designed to mount onto existing glazed openings, creating unmatched forced entry protection at what is typically the weakest link in a building’s security profile, transforming windows and doors into impenetrable openings that are 250 times stronger than glass alone. A bullet-resistant version of DefenseLite, BulletShield, is available, backed by independent tests that yielded UL 752 ballistic ratings, preventing breach against 9MM, .44 Magnum, and other aggressive attacks.
