John Selevitch is currently the Director of Digital Operations for LP Magazine, the premier news and educational publication for the loss prevention/asset protection professional. He also serves as Vice President of Operations for LPjobs.com, which is the #1 e-recruiting website that specializes in finding professional and qualified candidates for the Loss Prevention, Assets Protection, and Security industries. After being born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, Selevitch served as a military policeman with the United States Air Force. He then moved to Southern California where he spent most of his professional career. He has more than thirty-five years experience in retail loss prevention, and has worked for a varied and prestigious collection of national and international retailers. Over the course of his career he has worked in a number of different retail formats, holding positions with increasing responsibility while helping to build and shape many different loss prevention programs across the country. Immediately prior to joining LP Magazine, Selevitch was the Vice President of Loss Prevention for Limited Brands, the parent company of Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, and C.O. Bigelow, based in Columbus, Ohio. Among the other positions that have helped to shape his career would include West Coast Director of Loss Prevention for Sunglass Hut International; Western Divisional Loss Prevention Director for Toys R Us; Divisional Director of Loss Prevention for Staples; and Regional Director of Loss Prevention at department stores held by Federated Department Stores and Carter, Hawley, Hale. He was profiled in the LP Magazine article “Getting The Job Done – The Go-To People Inside LP”, and has been a featured speaker at several national loss prevention seminars, including the Retail Industry Leader’s Association and National Retail Federation’s annual loss prevention conferences.
