Genetec, a global leader in enterprise physical security software, has unveiled Genetec Cloudlink™ 210—a cloud-managed security appliance designed to help retailers combat rising shrink, manage security across multiple locations, and reduce operational complexity.
Supporting Retail Security and IT Teams
As the first cloud-managed appliance to support video surveillance, access control, and intrusion management in a single device, Cloudlink 210 enables retailers to spend less time managing their security infrastructure. By consolidating critical functions into one appliance, the device reduces hardware complexity and improves IT efficiency. This allows security and IT teams to focus on key challenges such as ORC, in-store violence, internal theft, and point-of-sale (POS) fraud.
The appliance features an intuitive touchscreen interface that simplifies deployment and enables teams to monitor connected systems without requiring on-site technical expertise at each location. With quick access to essential functions, users can easily check device status, network settings, and system health directly from the screen.
Cloudlink 210 also helps mitigate cybersecurity risks. Outdated or vulnerable security devices can introduce critical gaps in protection. To address this, Cloudlink 210 offers automated updates and network isolation. Retailers benefit from the latest security patches and features, while retaining the option to isolate untrusted or legacy devices on a separate network—helping safeguard both security data and broader IT infrastructure.
Simplified Deployment and Scalability
Unlike proprietary solutions, Cloudlink 210—designed and built by Genetec—is based on an open architecture that supports a wide ecosystem of compatible devices. Retailers can retain existing cameras, intrusion panels, and access control readers while connecting them to the cloud without a complete hardware overhaul. This enables the modernization of physical security operations through cloud connectivity, with seamless integration between on-premises and SaaS-based systems.
“Retailers need simple, cost-effective solutions to secure and manage stores,” said Scott Thomas, director of signature brands markets at Genetec. “With Cloudlink 210, they get an all-in-one solution that works with their existing cameras, intrusion panels, and access control readers—making it easy to modernize their asset protection infrastructure without replacing existing hardware investments.”
