Content Preferences: The Formats That Matter Most to You

One of our key goals for the survey was to understand how you prefer to consume content from LP Magazine. Here’s what you told us:Print Magazine: 19.78% of respondents prefer traditional print media.
Digital: 36.26% prefer engaging with content digitally.
Both: A strong 44.04% of respondents enjoy both formats.

Industry Concerns: What’s Keeping LP Professionals Up at Night

We wanted to understand which industry challenges were at the top of readers’ minds. Key concerns included:

Training and development: 60.44% were very interested in learning about training initiatives, focusing on the need for ongoing skill development. This was the highest-ranked area, emphasizing that LP professionals want to stay ahead of emerging threats and refine their expertise to improve security and efficiency.

One insightful comment pointed out the need for stronger collaboration between LP and store management, ensuring both teams understand how asset protection contributes to meeting company budgets and goals. “[I’d like to hear more on] how to team up with store management and help them understand the positive roles loss/asset protection plays in them meeting company budgets and goals.”

Crisis Management: 51.65% show strong interest in developing crisis plans and effective communication strategies, emphasizing a need for more information on handling critical incidents like active shooter situations and natural disasters.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Approximately 48.35% of respondents are highly interested in using data-driven approaches, such as predictive analytics and POS data, to identify theft trends and fraud. This reflects a strong interest in leveraging data and technology to improve decision-making and enhance asset protection strategies.

Tech-Driven Change: The Role of Innovation in Loss Prevention

Technology continues to be a major focus in the industry, and our survey results reflect this. Respondents were asked how interested they were in reading about emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and blockchain:

- Digital Partner -
  • 48.35% expressed a strong interest in innovations like AI for theft detection and IoT for asset tracking.
  • 31.87% were neutral on the topic.
  • 19.78% showed less interest.

These results stress that while there’s broad interest in these technologies, some professionals are not fully engaged or convinced. The industry might benefit from further education on these tools’ potential to reduce fraud and streamline operations.

One respondent said, “[I’d like to see more on] truly innovative technologies and solutions (i.e., EAS, locking showcases, alarms, tethers, etc., are tired).”

This underscores a demand for content about advanced tools to tackle modern theft prevention challenges and illuminates the opportunity to introduce next-gen technologies to the industry.

Shaping the Future Together

As we progress through 2025, we will continue to refine our approach to content based on your feedback. Your participation isn’t just valuable to us—it’s essential to shaping an LP community that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge. We greatly appreciate the depth of experience reflected in the survey results—58% of respondents have spent over 15 years in the industry, and nearly 25% hold roles as vice presidents or directors. This significant level of expertise highlights the credibility and importance of the feedback we receive and underscores the collective drive of the LP community to elevate the field. As always, we value your ongoing feedback and invite you to continue shaping our content by engaging with our upcoming surveys and LinkedIn polls.
