Trigo Launches AI Loss Prevention Solution Using Existing CCTV, No CapEx Required

Trigo Vision Ltd, a leading innovator in AI-driven retail solutions, has announced a significant evolution in its technology suite, introducing a CapEx-free loss prevention solution that promises to transform retail security and customer experience across multiple retail settings.

Rising retail crime and poor in-store experiences from theft-protection systems like plexiglass and facial recognition are losing retailers billions. Responding to the urgent calls by major retailers for real time solutions that efficiently tackle loss prevention, Trigo has leveraged its renowned frictionless retail technology–used by some of the world’s largest retailers, including the UK’s Tesco and Germany’s REWE–to provide immediate value to retailers struggling to balance shrink reduction with a free-flowing and non-intrusive customer shopping journey.

Unique Approach to Retail Intelligence

Trigo’s system tracks shopping journeys and human-product interactions in real-time, even with partial camera coverage. This eliminates blind spots by connecting the dots between different camera angles in store aisles to detect potential theft or unintentional checkout errors.

Trigo blurs faces to protect privacy while still tracking these movements and actions, focusing solely on behavior within the store. This ensures that while security is enhanced, customers do not feel surveilled, fostering a trustful shopping environment.

Once the system is operational, retailers can select from multiple response protocols– from subtle customer service interventions to direct security measures– based on their unique preferences and regional requirements.

Rapid Rollout

Trigo’s new approach involves leveraging existing CCTV infrastructure within stores, thereby eliminating the need for extensive capital expenditure on new hardware. Implementation requires only connection to existing Network Video Recorder (NVR) systems and POS integration, enabling rapid rollout.

This solution delivers extra value in high-theft areas like liquor, baby products, and other high-value goods, where losses can be extremely significant. Key capabilities include:

  • Advanced journey tracking without biometric identification

Data-Driven Insights Beyond Loss Prevention

While Trigo continues to support and expand its autonomous store offering, the expansion into loss prevention will be introduced at the National Retail Federation (NRF) convention in NYC in January and EuroCIS in Germany in February 2025. Trigo’s technology is currently being implemented in grocery and drug stores across Europe and the US, with plans to expand into fashion retail, DIY, and more, where security and customer service are paramount.
