Burglars Made Off with 300+ Guns by Smashing Cars into Stores
Six men between the ages of 18 and 23 have been charged with conspiracy to steal firearms from the premises of a federal firearm licensee. The men are suspected of burglarizing nine stores, each time using stolen vehicles to ram into the storefronts.

Unprecedented Theft Prompts New Security Measures in Maryland Giant Food Stores
An increase in shoplifting at Giant Food stores in Montgomery County, Maryland has prompted the regional grocer to enhance security protocols in some of its stores. Between 2021 and 2022, shoplifting in retail stores in the county increased by nearly 28 percent.

California’s ORC Task Force Has Recovered More Than $6.8M in Stolen Goods This Year
California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the California Highway Patrol has achieved a record number of arrests and recovery of stolen goods so far in 2024—717 arrests, and 230,000 stolen goods recovered worth more than $6.8 million.

Dallas C-Store Clerk Gunned Down During Robbery
A woman is facing robbery and murder charges after she fatally shot a store clerk in Dallas last Monday. The 29-year-old walked into the store and tried to steal property. During the robbery, she shot the 52-year-old store clerk before fleeing on foot into the woods.

Should Walmart Return to 24/7 Operations?
Walmart pulled back from being open around the clock seven days a week at most stores during the pandemic and for now has no plans to return. Many social media posts and some articles have lamented about the inconvenience caused by this reduction in hours, though.
