Checkpoint’s Wind RFID Label Debuts for Retail Cosmetic, Other Merchandise Visibility Applications

Checkpoint Systems, a global supplier of electronic article surveillance (EAS) and RFID solutions for the retail industry, announced at NRF’s Annual Convention & EXPO its Wind RFID label for cosmetics categories and many other merchandise visibility applications.

The new label features the use of Impinj’s Monza® R6-P RAIN RFID tag chip, which is optimized for serializing items such as apparel, electronics, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, jewelry and various other products. The chips support privacy, loss prevention and brand protection capabilities for retailers and brand owners. Monza R6-P reportedly delivers an excellent read range and encoding speed, as well as outstanding data integrity.

Wind is unique in that it works with a range of common systems, such as hand held, as well as increasingly sought-after fixed readers, such as Checkpoint’s Wirama-based point-of-exit (PoE) pedestals (E10 2.0), ceiling-mounted (OH2) sensors and RFID DC Tunnels. It features an inlay size of 50mm x 30mm, is ISO18000-6C compliant and can be can be encoded and printed to carry EPC data in several formats – RFID EPC air protocol, printed bar code and human readable text.
